Field Path Notation

Introduction

Field path notation is a syntax used to get values in Documents, Entities and Nodes so that the information can be used in a configuration.

In a Network, Nodes and Links have fields which provide descriptive information about the node/link. For example, a Person node could have fields such as Name and Date of Birth (DOB) which in the Network Creation configuration can be set to capture the value of the field:

When the network is created, the field name as defined in the above screenshot, is displayed in the Fields section of a node as shown in the following screenshot:
