System Settings Tab

Below is a summary of all of the System Settings.

System Settings
System Settings

Allows you to set the:

  • Global Upload Size Limit
  • Document Upload Size Limit
  • Document Processing Size Limit
  • User session timeout
  • Web sessions per user
  • Concurrent App execution limits

(See System Settings Options)

Web Interface: Global Theme

You can set the System default theme to light (default) or dark (see Set System Default Theme ). The system default theme applies to the login page and for all new users.

Users can choose their own personal theme under their User Account settings. See Set the Theme: Dark Mode .

Internet Proxy

Sets the proxy server for internet access. It will be used for Phone Home and for ingesting documents by URLs.

It will not be used for Harvester. Use Harvester Configuration to configure Harvester proxy.

If there is an additional proxy server to isolate Sintelix from the network, ensure it doesn’t impose severe upload size restrictions as uploading documents larger than the restriction will fail.

Sintelix Phone Home System Proxy Settings

Sintelix allows to set basic proxy authentication through the admin system settings. For other Proxy server configurations such as NTLM or PKI, an intermediate proxy server can be setup as per your environment settings. An intermediate proxy that supports your authentication method, can be installed in the machine that is running Sintelix. This intermediate proxy will be listening in the local machine along with Sintelix and can be used to re-direct traffic to the parent proxy server that uses NTLM or PKI.

Media Processing Server

You can set the URL for the Media Processing Server.

To enable audio/video transcription, Sintelix needs to be connected to a Media Processing Server.

Before connecting to the Media Processing Server, you first into install and configure the Media Processing Server, see Integrate Audio Transcription.

Once set up, enter the URL of the Media Processing Server in the Processing Server URL dialog, for example, http://localhost:8084.

A green tick is displayed to indicate the successful connection to the Media Processing Server.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Server

Sets the URL to the OCR Server. See Connect OCR.

Before connecting Sintelix to an OCR server, the OCR server needs to be installed. There are two OCR server options: Sintelix OCR server or ABBYY FineReader Server.

See Install Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for more information.

Question Answering Settings

The Question Answering (QA) search feature let's you ask a question and receive answers about information contained in a Collection. See Question Answering for more information about using Question Answering.

In Question Answering Status and Settings you can:

  • Change the search mode (CPU or GPU enhanced)
  • Configure a remote server connection to process QA queries
  • Test the performance of the available devices (Benchmark devices)

To use the GPU Enhanced model, you will need to have a Nvidia CUDA GPU device and to install the Sintelix GPU Driver and Plug-in. See Install GPU Enhanced Mode.

Sintelix Agent: Private Agent Settings

Allows you to enable Private agents, which are disabled by default.

Private Agents allow users to install the Sintelix Agent on their desktop to connect to Sintelix Online.

Before connecting to a Private Agent, the Sintelix Agent needs to be installed on the machine accessing Sintelix Online, see Install the Sintelix Agent on a Separate Machine .

Once enabled, a Private agent connection requires the agent password (set during installation) to authorise the connection (see Manage Private Agents ).

Mapping: Custom Raster Map

Sintelix can connect to a custom raster map server to display maps in documents, network tables and the network graph.

This configuration can be used to connect to an online raster map server, or to connect to an offline map server supplied by Sintelix.

See Custom Map Server .

System Settings Options

System Settings tab has the following options:

Setting

Description

Global Upload Size Limit

You can change the upload file size limit for multipart uploads such as project files.

While you can set an upload size limit over 2GB, files over 2GB may encounter issues due to other system limitations.

Document Upload Size Limit You can change the upload file size limit for documents when you Add Documents from local files, see Add from Local Files
Document Processing Size Limit

Sets the maximum document size in millions of characters.

Large documents will be split into multiple documents.

User session timeout Set the time of inactivity when a user session expires.
Web sessions per user

To enhance security measures, there is an option to ensure that only one authenticated session can be enabled per user. If an additional session is created after web sessions have been limited, the user will be notified that only one session per user is allowed and be given the option to terminate the previous session.

Multiple sessions per user is the default, which allows a single user to be logged in from multiple web browsers.
App Execution

Apps are code modules in project files to perform automated functions in Sintelix or provide custom user interfaces for Solutions (see Apps for more information).

You can modify the maximum number apps executed in the background at the same time.

App Execution: Reserved for high priority tasks You can modify the maximum number high priority apps executed in the background at the same time.
