Network Expansion

What is a Network

A Network Expansion expands an existing Network. A Network Expansion clusters an existing Network to generate new nodes and links to provide further insights.

The are two types of Network Expansions:

  • Custom - need to create a configuration to define the expansion.

  • Default - they are pre-configured and can be run without modification. You can refine the configuration to suit your requirements.

Custom Expansions

The Custom Expansions include:

  • Link Aggregation - groups links to create a new aggregated link that includes a calculated strength, count or neighbours in common.

Default Network Expansions

The Default Network Expansions include:

Manage Configurations

See Manage Configurations for more information on managing configurations, including opening, creating, renaming, copying, exporting, and importing configurations.

Apply a Network Expansion

To apply a Network Expansion to a Network, see Expand the Network.

Community Detection

The Community Detection examines Person nodes to identify a similar network of neighbours (Persons and Organisations) by examining the following links:

  • Colocation with a Person

  • Colocation with an Organisation

  • Relationship

  • Position-organisation

  • Communication

It does not detect friendship or organisation alignment.
